A Painted Pastoral Scene

by Tom Horonzy

In a field, yellowed by buttercups
whiskery green props hold florets up
while they stand tall in fertile places
having earth's day star warm their faces.

White-tail tawny deer hungrily chew
on raspberries red and blueberries blue
while Poplar catkins burst forth in lemon,
over a clutch of lilac and orange anemones.

An azure sky is sprinkled with Cu,
a celestial scene sketched for you
dabbed with black cows, white sheep,
and a lad laying low a silver fir, asleep.

A Spring composition; a Monet-like impression.
Angel Trumpets leading a heavenly procession
of pastels mingled amidst vivid expressions.
God is good, God is great. God is love.

Cu is for cumulus cloud. Earth's Day star is the sun. Low is below- archaic.
Catkin - a spiked flower on tulip poplar trees in Spring.
Do you think I should italicize the varied colors mentioned?
