A secret place gives comfort.
Silent Symphony
by Nicki Nance
The smell of heaven drew me from my unwinding jog into a congregation of long needled pine trees. A canopy of tightly entangled branches turned off the sun. The thick brown carpet of the shed needles cushioned my steps. Nature had absorbed all sound, creating a silent symphony. Peace. I stood amid my new woodsy friends, safe in the dark silence. No one can take that bliss from me. I will always have been there.
