COVID is still all around us.
Lurking on the train, plane, and bus.
Waiting waiting for us to fall.
General Corona comes for us all.

Fearing catching the covid bug.
Hitting us all like a hard drug.
Slowing our life to a crawl.
General corona comes for us all.

Nowhere to escape or to run.
We are all living under the gun.
We soon will be all under its thrall.

Kyrielle poetry writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt
Kyrielle is a french form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines). Each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only 8 syllables. There is no iimit to the amount of stanzas a kyrielle may have but for the purpose of this contest there are three. Popular rhyming schemes are aabB, ccbB, ddbB with B being the repeated line. There is also another popular one abaB, cbcB, dbdB.

Example:

Some days I sing, some days I cry.
My soul's the one determines why.
Sometimes it laughs, sometime it mourns.
On my bouquet are many thorns.

Wake up each day, face a dqrk cloud.
My happiness wrapped in a shroud.
The day begins, to me it scorns.
On my bouquet are many thorns.

Lay down my head, dark nights begun.
With the sad setting of the sun.
From all my sorrows mycheart mourns.
On my bouquet are many thorns.

came down with COVID this week so obviously, have COVID on my mind.

General Corona is my personification of Corona came to me in a dream when the former President was talking about fighting an invisible army and I thought even an invisible army needs a general thus my fevered muse came up with General Corona who I saw as one of the horsemen of the apocalypse commanding an army of invisible imperial storm troopers charging into battle against humanity.
