Always Remember

9/11...Never Forget

The buildings glowed like Hades,
just the way that Hell might be.
Flames flickered through the morning sky,
like a rolling, scorching sea.

The people leaned from windows,
Death was nearby, they could tell.
They prayed in vain for rescue,
all hopes held were soon dispelled.

Flying in on wings of silver,
ending joy, and spice, and life.
Death, collected countless souls,
causing heartbreak, endless strife.

Smoke and heat would prove too much,
graphic deaths for all to see.
As the whole world witnessed this,
unthinkable tragedy.

So little left, the buildings gone,
twisted metal and debris.
This reminds, lest we forget,
the world changed for you and me.

Rejoice in the human spirit,
it's not easily decayed.
Tower One stands now, in their stead,
thus, our spirit is displayed.
