A poem about a man with a fantastic beard!

Weird Beard

by Mike Grimes

Weird Beard had a beard that was quite unique,

The kind of a beard that all bearded men seek.

Crispy and wispy, it clung to his face.

He shaved 'round his mouth to avoid the beards taste.

He sculpted it properly, just like a hedge.

You'd get a cut if you tried touching the edge!

It was cropped 'round the neck to enlarge his big head

And make him more menacing! That's what he said!

It felt like a sheep that had sat in the sun,

Or the top of an overbaked cinnamon bun.

He greased it with tallow to make his beard glisten.

When a man with a beard like that talks, people listen!

Because his beard looked just the way that it did,

You'd think that he'd had it since he was a kid!

Yes, he was well loved, respected and feared

Because of his ferocious beard!
