A poem of deep rooted jealousy
Oh, how nice
What paradise
your little world must be
Don’t mind my stare
as I sit here
enraged with jealousy
I know her well
and I can tell
Carefree- she doesn’t stay
What ignorance
Her blinded bliss
Trust me; she learns one day
Won't hide my watch
or camouflage
That girl, she won’t see me
She’s unaware
that I sit here
Consumed with such envy
Her eyes, they know
nothing of woe
They’re bright, hopeful, and kind
She’s not been told
what they’ll behold
or of the sorrow, she will find
Despite my scorn
I long to warn
This girl of her despair
Foolish is she
So would I be
To think I could prepare
She’ll come undone
from what’s to come
now creeping around the bend
It’s then, that my
envy will die
When her paradise does end
With each blow
this girl will know
of what her life has in store
And just when she
thinks she is free
from suffering.. there’s more
Her heart will break
make no mistake
She’ll endure what most can’t bear
And that’s when she
will be like me
with a bitter, jealous stare
You see, I stare
at this girl here
not through a window's glass
Not while downtown
or just around
no, her, I can’t walk past
My only view
all I can do
to see her, all I have
Is my memory
and jealousy
of myself in this photograph
