I love my family oh so much they are always there for me.
In good times and in bad they loved me unconditionally.
I came from a big family. There were nine children in all .
We are close knit and keep in touch winter, spring summer or fall.
Five girls and four boys completed our family of nine.
Money wasn’t plentiful back then it was a different time.
We had lots of precious memories living by the sea with Mom and Dad.
There were no cell phone or video games.
We had to make fun with what little we had.
We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the fresh salty air.
We made our own fun by playing games, skating or sliding depending on the time of year.
We recently lost a sister and brother to cancer and our hearts are broken in two.
Two empty branches on the family tree. The pain is still quite new.
Over the years we did lots of fun things together.
I feel having so many siblings make life so much better.
There were so many children the oldest helped take care of the young.
Sharing responsibility was the only way to get things done.
Mom and Dad didn’t have it easy, I know this to be true.
My mom lost an infant to crib death. I can’t imagine what they went through.
When she went to pick up her baby his little body was oh so cold.
She said he was such a good boy all night but little did she know.
Her darling baby boy had slipped away during the night.
A dear little Angel who was precious in God's sight.
My daddy made a little pine box to put our brother in.
The pain they witnessed that day was such a mortal sin.
We would have had a family of ten but it wasn’t meant to be.
Our brother wasn’t meant to live life on earth.
His home was in heaven you see.
Now we have seven of us left it can never be the same.
Life goes on and we have to enjoy family members that remain.
We will always treasure the memories of our loved ones that have passed.
Continuing on this journey of life making fond memories to last.
