Forays into Forms ~ Quatern

A Narrow Trail

by Sugarray77

He ambled on a narrow trail
beneath tall stands of brackened trees.
Through winter sunlight soft and pale
that sifted through dense canopies.

Consumed in meditative thought,
he ambled on a narrow trail.
True clarity was deeply sought
with piety ~ to no avail.

For troubled winds with rain and hail
were coming, this he surely knew.
He ambled on a narrow trail
envisioning the right way through.

Since gales and storms were certainties,
he prayed for strength to stand... prevail.
As solace healed his deep unease,
he ambled on a narrow trail.
