Miss P

Don't judge me by my color,
I'm an awesome shade of black.
At best, folks think I'll bring bad luck,
at worst, I might attack.

But I'm the sweetest kitty,
that you'll likely ever see.
My owner saw it in my eyes,
so he adopted me.

Although my name is Princess,
I'm just known as Miss P.
We've been together ten plus years,
I love him, he loves me.

The house I live in is quite old,
so there are mice a-plenty.
I love to hunt, I catch a few,
but really, not too many.

I follow Shaun around the house,

where he goes, I go too.

I just like being close to him,

my devotion to him, true.

I love to sit, soak up the sun,
that streams in through the glass,
and snuggle with my owner,
I'm a lucky feline lass.

Being a cat's the best of all,
you'd know it if you were one.
We're happy, independent souls,
we're always having fun.

If you could walk in my paws,
for just one single day,
you'd see how great a cat's life is,
in each and every way.
