The sacrifice is immense

We Stay Home

We stay home
while you protect us.

We sleep peacefully
while you patrol against snipers.

We think of your sacrifice on patriotic holidays
while the thought of us motivates your every move.

Everything we find precious:

our freedom,
our creature comforts,
our daily existence

exists because of your willingness to be there:

on distant shores,
in enemy territory,
in filthy bunkers,

while we stay home.
