Healing from all this pain.

Take This Pain Away

by Charity Stewart

I hope this wine in my cup takes this pain away.

I hope the perkys in my stomach take this pain away.

I hope the codeine in my system takes this pain away.

I tried to pray but it won't take this pain away.

Everyday is a rainy day.

Let the poetic voice of the streets forever play.

Money won't take this pain away.

Drowning in my sorrow each and every day.

I'm the black sheep of the family, I was led astray.

My heart is shivering, cold as clay.

Left abandoned, my spirit is old and gray.

Popping pills, I didn't know any other way.

Every night in my pain I lay.

Rebuking the devil, please go away!!

Demons surround me, I feel like a prey.

My soul is cold as winter but it's only may.

I need the strength of a bandana but I'm weak as hay.

No matter how hard I fight, this pain will always stay.

Snowstorms of agony, I need a sleigh.

Hopeful wishes of burdens, light as spray.

This pain in my chest will never stay at bay.

In my tomb, the pain still rocks and sway.

Grew up too fast, I really didn't get a chance to play.

Confessions of my life, I don't know what else to say.

I would give anything to take this pain away.

Let the poetic voice of the streets forever play.

I hope my poems can take this pain away.

Let my pain bring healing in miraculous ways.
