An acrostic poem for the contest

Hummingbirds

by June Sargent

Hush, and listen to the sound of

Undulating little wings

Motionless, yet full of movement

Mocking dragonflies while dancing

In our garden every spring

Nimble little fairy birds with

Grace and beauty of real gems

Blazing colors dazzlingly

Iridescent in the sunlight

Rising towards the luscious nectar

Dripping from a flower's heart -

Satiated, fairies dart away
