The virus grows

by Joanne Gill-Maddick

Early in the morning not a soul in sight cities looking like a ghost town on a cold and winters night.

Closed signs in the windows Corona is moving in.  People are heading back from somewhere they wish they never been.

Chorus:

And the virus grows and the virus grows.

Chorus:  The virus grows and takes its toll.
on a fearful night, more restless souls.
As corona spins out of control.
Deep in their hearts the virus grows.

Every light is burning in houses across town.  People are pacing by the TV the news is coming on. Asking God for a miracle and hoping we're not right.  Praying it's not Corona making us lose the fight.

People waiting by the window as they worry day and night.  Rushing around to get groceries and thankful they're allright.

Out in the streets there's a strange vibe.  A fear of the unknown .  Will Corona raise its ugly head ?  We really just don't know.

Chorus:  And the virus grows.
And the virus grows.
The virus grows and takes its toll.
Another fearful night, more restless souls.
as Corona
spins out of control. Deep in their hearts the virus grows.

Re-Write A Song writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Poems are Part I of every song with lyrics. Choose a song you love, and re-write the words. Can be a Broadway tune, a pop or country song, even a Christmas carol -any song at all! But whatever it is, you'll help yourself in the polls if you also post a recorded version of the original song when you post the new-and-improved lyrics/contest entry by you. (Because the voters might not be familiar with the tune, so giving them a chance to listen to it will help them "hear" yours!)

The Virus grows is my song I rewrote the thunder rolls by Garth Brooks.
