Fairy Tale Dreams

I Wanted The Fairy Tale

by MyaAponi

I have always dreamed of having the fairy tale
No, I don't mean that I wanted to be a princess
But I wanted to be the stars in someone's eyes
The person sought out for a passionate kiss

I wanted to be surprised by a grand proposal
Or at least for him to ask me on bended knee
I wanted him to search for the perfect ring
To know he'll always love me unconditionally

I want him to bring me flowers just because
Just because he loves me on no special day
I want him to walk up behind me and hug me
To send me emojis for a little bit of text play

In my fairy tale I don't expect expensive things
No big gestures are needed, it's the small stuff
Maybe he might take some hints from movies
Helping without being asked, or a gentle touch

I want him to dance with me in our kitchen
To sing the words as we move along to our song
I want him to want to hold my hand as we walk
Just like he once did, to want this, is it wrong?

I want him, not me, to buy my gifts every year
I have always found time to do all for everyone
Gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays
And that was before online shopping was done

I don't want to ask or plead for him to do things
But to be surprised with him cleaning one day
I want him reach out to hold me when I'm upset
To kiss me and tell me every thing will be okay

The little things that say I love you is what I miss
I know I'll never see stars twinkle in anyone's eyes
And I know I'm never gonna be anyone's princess
But I won't ever stop dreaming of my fairy tale
