This Is My Life

Oh, my goodness, what theater could be
Inviting a wandering soul like me
To opine his random whims
And such other mental gems
Wrapped in amateur poet philosophy…

Where shall I start and where shall I go
To attempt to explain all I know?
Wine, helps find truth elusive
Sassy, but not obtrusive,
May I suggest a friendly Merlot?

Have you known people ready to spat?
Philosophy profound? - Not where I’m at
For fame, praise, or adulation,
Or big impact on our nation…
I accept, I’m only one – who has sat.

So, now, we’ve established who I’m not,
We’ll cover the philosophy which got
Me to this point in my days,
As I wander through life’s haze
Of what I remember (and forgot).

Work’s the cornerstone of who I am
Family was poor, often ate Spam.
For college, first went to sea
Navy paid for my degree.
Never a good student, had to cram!

Philosophical Point number 2
Gotta have some fun whatever you do
For me, selling was the key
Pure fun plus free meals for me.
Lot’s of travel, going places new.

To love and be loved, tis my Point 3;
Mate, kids and pets, say, don’t you agree?
Life without love? Not complete!
Yes, I would quickly repeat
Those many years raising our family.

Faith in concepts much bigger than I
Of He who controls our lives, Earth, sky…
I don’t understand it all
But, without it, I would fall
So, I kneel and pray to on high.

“To sum up”, as philosophers say,
My Philosophy of Life is Four-Way
Starting with Work, but with Fun,
Love, and Faith “Thy will be done”
On Philosophy, let’s call it a day…
