An old bush cabin inspired this

It's The House

by bob cullen

It’s The House

It’s the house I once lived in,

It’s the house where I was raised.

It’s the house where I learned ‘bout life

It’s the place where often I got praised

All it now holds is old memories

Of a time so long passed by

Of a family and my parents

Still don't know the reasons why

My mother, how God blessed her

My old Dad he did his best

My brothers and my sister

And our pet dog what a pest

But those days are long behind us

Now I kneel and start to pray

I thank the Lord for giving me

All the things I have today

Recognized

I discovered an old picture of a badly run-down bush cabin. This poem resulted from that picture. Pity is, I misplaced the photo
