It hides a thousand secrets
Brings laughter,joy and tears
And tells a thousand stories
Of those long lost distant years

You think back on those childhood days
How you would sit and dream
An engine driver you would be
Creating smoke and steam.

The years roll by and then you see
Young love with naught to hide
"J" loves "K" within a heart
And carved with loving pride.

And then middle years are there
With the chatter of the day
Greeting called , Hello's exchanged
And all with lots to say

Then finally, the greying years
As you contemplate the scene
From the seat in the park you reminisce
Of what things had or might have been.
