Righteous Anger

I feel a fire in my brain, kindled by people

Perceived as mean and an evil, perilous pain

I’m furious at the way selfish people conspire

Those hypocrites who lie for personal popularity

Encountering them my anger bursts into angry flames

As the blaze burns, I become frustrated and anxious

I know for my own good my outrage must be managed

When rage overtakes I know I must reestablish control

Foaming wrath makes me a less effective human being

As an angry person I now know I may make bad decisions

So, to diminish my devilish anger, I have found chanting a

Peaceful mantra helps me to think, relax, and calm down
