Make me happy

Things That Bring Me Comfort

What Brings You Comfort Contest Winner 
As the days become shorter
and the nights colder,
a blissful smile forms on my face
as I light my fireplace.

As the flames flicker and dance
slouched supine on my couch
happily around my feet
my pets come and crouch

I love folding coloured paper
making dragons, tigers and spiders;
playing sudoku and chess
relieves stress, keeps my mind at rest.

Listening to vinyls is fun,
my speakers spout megatons
lungs open, hearts drum
while I share memories with a chum.

I find comfort within my woods, 
where songbirds, whispering winds
and inviting waters
ease my troubled mood.
