Lost Soul

by jacquelyn popp

I wander alone in the evenings
Looking for my home.
I feel tired and weary
In these old and achy bones.

My life felt empty
Hopeless even at times.
The nights that I spent to sleep anywhere
At times were cold.

The sun would shine warmly upon my shoulders the next day
Warming my face...my heart.
But still
I felt like a lost soul.

One day as I was looking for something to eat
A stranger slowly approached me.
She prayed, and told me that you are not a lost soul
And placed the bible in my hand.

Now my days are brighter
And it's nice to have a warm bed to sleep.
Yes I have found Jesus in my life
Because of the stranger who found me.

My life has changed so very much
I feel loved, blessed, and full.
Knowing now with all my heart
That I am not just a lost soul.

Recognized

This is one of my favorite spiritual poems because it reminds me that though at times we may have felt hopeless or even lost, but with Jesus in one's life, anyone can find their way.
