Sometimes resolutions fail and yet better things await

Looking back on the year so far

by Sumana Pathak Sharma

How in October did we land?

I thought I’d come far

But from where I stand

The green meadows are still away

I was left enamored by the silent ranches I saw on my way

Rugged, beaten but beautiful paths

I took the roads less traveled

The plan is in tatters

But it doesn’t feel like I betrayed

I only followed my heart

And now, from where I stand

There couldn’t have been a better path

My heart didn’t stray

Oh new year, I look your way

I’ll have a plan

But I’ll throw it to the wayside, If my heart says nay

A Milestone Post

We like to start the new year with resolutions and goals but the path to these should not be set in stone. Sometimes our heart and gut call for taking a different path than the one we had planned for and may even
lead to a destination we could â??notâ?? have imagined. Yet sometimes it makes sense to forget all the rules and just ride along and chase the butterflies. Like our heart, they know exactly where they are going! Our brain often does not. Our resolutions mainly come from our brain. So, go figure!
