My Eighth Grade Nun

by HarryT

Nun, nun, nun
No fun, no fun, no fun
Not true, not true, not true

Out of class, this nun was fun
Hit a softball and could run her buns
Slid into third base, veil flying, smiling face
Brushed herself off with stylish grace

But in the classroom a no nunsense style
Seldom would she or we crack a smile
When unruly she’d give us holy water squirt
Reminding us we came from spit and dirt

Sister Mary Grace was her blessed nun name
Accuracy with an eraser, her claim to fame
We were lucky to have her as a teacher
She was truthfully God’s special creature

Writing Prompt
Write a funny nonsense poem.

She was a great lady. When many of us were high school, we would often come back to her room at the grammar school. We'd talk and laugh and discuss how each of us was getting along with our lives.
