Who are you?
A Simple Query

If I have to be me,
and by the way, I do,
how would that sit with you?
Is it something you could deal with
or would you leave me on my own?
I believe I am softhearted
with an outer shell equivalent
to the hardest nut to crack,
which is a macadamia.
Unshakably tenacious
the path I walked apparently
calloused my sensitivity,
for I freely speak my mind
letting cards fall where they may
and accepting the outcome.
Might be why
I have so few friends
who would not bend
when my bellow blew,
air too hot to handle.

My way may cause you
discomfort, but not telling
the truth, as I've been taught,
would make me distraught
which could be a worser worse
than accepting me for who I am.
So once again, as I depart, I ask,
