Nature's final fling

by royowen

Death can be a glorious thing,
an act in nature's final fling.
When Jesus died God mourned His Son,
yet knew that death had set sin's sun.

The dying leaf will seize belief,
that death can wear a jewelled sheath.
If one is buried, still he lives,
as death to self, life's symbol gives.

The tree is master in the field.
Its beauty reigns, its branches shield.
All creatures shelter from the sun.
It's then I know what Christ has done.

For time will bring the Autumn change,
what winter's shadows re-arrange.
So do not fret when Autumn leaves
reflect the summer's harvest sheaves.

2 Timothy 2:11-12
This is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He will also deny us.
