Striving & Starving

Striving and starving, two words near the same

Rumours and gossip, they’re part of the game

Life tends to deliver more guilt than shame

My life it’s heavy from shifting the blame

Weren’t we taught better, by the Lord above

His life lessons preached the values of love

Why don’t we share peace like a tiny dove

Instead, we’ll argue till push comes to shove

One day I pray, God will open my eyes

Grant me wisdom, promised one day I’ll rise

Now I look up to the Heavenly skies

Seeking His answers, help me become wise

Lord, I ponder, more than I need I know

Some days I’m broken and feeling so low

But with your blessings, each day I will grow

Memory recalls, you reap what you sow

Duty and honour so often displayed

Courage in battle, a price to be paid

Lives lost in the air, at sea and air raid

In Heaven together, they all parade

Striving and starving two words near the same

This world’s still crazy and we’re all too blame

Guess it’s all our fault, we craved wealth and fame

Having shared our time I’d do it the same.

Really not sure where this came from. I guess it started with feeling sorry for myself. It grew from there, it's not biographical but it could be the story of someone from my past.
