What Would You Take contest entry
When I Can't Take it All

When smoke began to fill my home,
I yelled, "You must survive!"
I fought the fumes and saved its life,
my rare PlayStation 5.
I grabbed my Hamer Scarab II,
my eighties rock guitar.
No time to break my drum set down,
they'd burn right where they are.
I could not let my precious axe
be void of song or shred.
I also grabbed as I ran out
my vintage Marshall head.
I reached the fridge in record time.
I would not sacrifice
the leftovers from last night's feast,
the shrimp stir-fry with rice.
The last I'd save, my Yamaha,
if all the stakes were dire.
I'd brave a giant wall of flames
and push my bike through fire.
And then I'd jump into my pool
with one last massive splash.
I'd watch my home go up in smoke
and dreams all burn to ash.
