I was a...
In Jr. High I had a big crush,
on a basketball player named Tim.
Knew nothing of love, but he gave me a rush,
only fifteen but I wanted him.
He was really tall, blonde and handsome,
he was popular, confident, bold.
The scoundrel, he held my heart ransom,
but he knew not, for I never told.
He never noticed that I was alive,
though we had the same class for homeroom.
Just one smile would have made my heart thrive,
so in love, that I'd see him and swoon.
I was so shy, I always felt less,
having friends, a foreign concept to me.
In love at fifteen, oh what a mess!
Falling for him was not meant to be.
I guarded my heart then, always on alert,
I think about him still, to this day.
Puppy love, unrequited, did hurt,
until my one true soulmate came my way.

Writing Prompt
Go with the flow you feel or felt when she or he left you out of their dreams/plans or anything where you pined for them, and those emotions went unreciprocated. Any form will be fine.
