I Lived a Dream

Have you lived a dream? Contest Winner

Beneath the covers on satin sheets,
I am convinced, lies a latent power
waiting to be released.
It's electrifying.

I'm drawn to its shape
as a magnet is to steel
recalling skin soft as silk
with hair flowing where
the small of the back desires kisses.

What is the switch to turn off to on?
I offered charm last night and in retutn
got a yawn and a good night kiss.
Water and electricity don't mix.

So in the light of dawn, I drew her close, kissed her neck,
hoping for a positive reaction. She murmured a coo
which made me ask; what should I do next?

Nothing. She took over as "Outer Limits" did on teevee
where they controlled the volume, the horizontal and vertical.
I did not dare to "adjust a thing." I was living my fantasy.
And that is all you need to know.

Never having a mind at rest, this was "a dream" I must confess. Fictional. Right?

Lay means "to place something down flat," while lie means "to be in a flat position on a surface." This originally was written with lays in line two but Susan mentioned otherwise and I searched to find what you just read and changed lays to lies.

I like using my own photography and will if an edit allows me. (It did) The picture depicts a dreamy field where anything can happen.

After itâ??s release, this piece shows differently than itâ??s original layout. I tried to correct but, nope, it has a way of its own.
