Witch's Brew

by Rachelle Allen

Eye of gopher,

snout of bat;

drop them in

my pointy hat!

Add a lemon drop

for tang,

then Pop Rocks

for crackle and bang.

Now it's time

for dragon's tears,

and the sweat

of children's fears.

Stir and stir

o'er flickering flame.

You look scared!

Now, that's a shame.

These ingredients

might sound scary,

but, Dear Child,

do not be wary.

Remember that

a witch's brew

is laced with magic

through and through.

Drink it down,

and you will see

it tastes like cherries

from a tree.

It will make your

dreams come true!

...Shall I pour

a cup for you???

Halloween poem for children. writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a fun Halloween poem for a child. Any style of length.

Pop Rocks are gravel-sized candies that, when you hold them in your mouth, actually crackle and pop! Kind of freaky, but also very fun.
