Mum Rules

The gate prevented forward movement. A shiver of nerves passed through both of them. The clank of the gates opening was simultaneous to the surge of power. Get to the inside. Track solid. Number ten too close. Move away and forward. The gap was there. Four strides and they were through. Adrenaline driving them. The winning post beckoning .Not long, but seeming forever.
Blackness. Then a voice.
"Come on. We have to pick up Angela. Memories can wait."
Mum rules.
