Fear of Dogs

When I was a child
A dog bit me
Ever since then
I was afraid of dogs
Just did not understand them
And why people liked them
Then I had a dog in college
Had to give him to my sister
But I learned to appreciate dogs
Later had a beagle
Who was my constant companion
When I was recovering from surgery
He saved my soul
And made me a dog person
Now I love seeing dogs on the street.
