Pain is a lost person
Wandering aimlessly
through me …

Pain is the tears
Forming ponds,
Then rivers, swelling to floods
Coursing through me.

Pain is the volcano crater
Grumbling and spewing
Erratically, before the roar
Of a violent eruption
Shattering me.

Pain is a spark
Igniting fires,
Starting a blaze,
Roaring out of control,
Burning all in its path,
Destroying me.

Dust to dust,
Ashes to ashes.
