The Search

by LisaMay

The shopping is done, now home I must go;
but where is my car? – I would like to know.
I plum just forgot! Don't remember the spot!
I can't find my car in the parking lot.

Perhaps it's been stolen by a thief,
and now it is missing, causing me grief.
I'll look again, with my fingers crossed –
can't stand the thought my car has been lost.

Perhaps there's a chance I am losing my mind;
I've walked all the rows but my car I can't find.
Is this one here it? No, that is not mine;
my own car is clean – it has a nice shine.

And here's another, the same type of car.
But where is my own?? This is so bizarre.
I'm wasting my time, and now the meat's thawed.
With this long search I am utterly bored.

I want my car! But where can it be??
Is it over there, parked under that tree?
No, it is not, but my BIKE's leaning there.
I'll pedal on home, and try not to swear.
