Why do nations plot?

by royowen

The Earth cries out, the Angels weep,
the day draws near as watchers keep
a vigil on the city walls,
as clouds draw near and twilight falls.

Why do the nations plot in vain,
as wild winds blow, clouds fill with rain?
The Lord will laugh, consumed with mirth,
while fear and trembling have no worth.

Let all God's children sing, rejoice,
they clap their hands, to song give voice.
They shout and dance, declare with glee,
the Lord be praised for faith's decree.

Be bold, be brave, the faithful hold
to grace and truth, let trust enfold.
God's light will dawn, as Earth grows dark,
His time has come, faith's flame will spark.

Based on Psalm 2
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together
against the LORD and against his anointed, saying, ¢??Let us break their chains(D)
and throw off their shackles.¢??(
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath,(I) saying, ¢??I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.¢??I will proclaim the LORD¢??s decree:

Isaiah 62:6
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest. NIV
