A girl is struggling to know who she is in high school.
Mirror, Mirror
by Elizabeth Strazisar
She liked to fit people into the world like puzzle pieces. The jocks, the nerds, the band geeks, the popular kids. She stares at me, trying to figure me out, but she looks almost worried. It is just us. No one else. No one is ever here when we meet together. She looks at me some more.
“I don’t know who you are,” she says, and she leaves the bathroom.
I am only her reflection.
