People in general, especially young children, have a propensity to hide embarrassing aspects of events that have occurred in their lives. The fact that our relatives have taken advantage of us by sexual abuse undermines our ability to trust people. Then, to conceal the shame acquired, we improvise curtains and blinds. It travels all the way down to the subconscious, where it becomes inundated with anxiety and outbursts of tears.

We harbour feelings such as being filthy on the inside as well as the outside. We move forward with extreme caution and will not disclose the damages that the savage beast did against our will. He committed an act against my innocence for which no one had the right. He should have been concerned about my well-being, rather than fantasising about sexual relations with his baby cousin, which began when she was nineteen months old. He was a teen and knew right from wrong.

At the age of six, I did not report the horrible abuse because I was afraid of the unknown. I feared for my life. As a result, my mouth was shut. A person who has been through emotional trauma may find it challenging to come to terms with the destruction that has been inflicted upon their fragile body and mind. If you believe a child or senior citizen is being mistreated, you should act immediately.
