There is something about watching a sunset while on vacation

The Simple Pleasures of Maine

Natural Wildlife Preserve awaits my return
Serenity at its best as the seagulls glide by
Church steeple can be seen in the distance
As kayakers slowly paddle beneath the sky

The warm sunny beach day draws to a close
Anticipation awakens the senses once more
Musing what tonight's sunset will showcase
Many clouds; a spectacular display for sure

Sips of aged Sauvignon Blanc relax the spirit
Sweet serenity on the balcony, what a view!
Soft gentle breezes enhance the landscape
Thirty minutes before the sunset bids adieu

Soon sleep will beckon, sound of the waves
Body and soul calm; drifting off to a dream
Awakened in the morning to yet a new day
Beach bound; feeling rested and redeemed

Every year I vacation on the coast of Maine. I so look forward to this time. Our front porch overlooks the ocean and the back balcony overlooks the national wildlife marsh, my favorite quiet place to watch the seagull and other birds flying by, kayakers paddling accross the marsh, the sound of church bells ringing as a nearby church. As I sip my cup of coffee and reflect on how blessed I am to have this time to be still in the Lord and count my blessings. I feel so much gratitude for my life even with some of its storms I always can find a rainbow if I truly search for it.
