A poem

Appointed

I simply must remember this,
that I am saved by grace.
I'll never serve in judgement's cause
present another face.

The only way I'm special is
the power of Jesus' blood.
God's favour rests upon my head
because my Lord is good.

I'm just a thorn in Jesus' crown
yet brother, friend and kin.
Though I exist to merely serve,
not here at my own whim

So I will pray the Spirit's help
to keep me in my place,
The world can never anger me,
I walk in Jesus' grace.
