What might Heaven be like?

Heaven's Scent

by davisr (Rhonda)

Heavenly hosts of Glory, angels all around,
What waits beyond the veil where love and joy abound?
Streets of gold, this we know, the Lamb upon His throne,
Fountains of living water, for the Savior’s own.

Our tears, each one, wiped away by His loving hand,
Tender warmth, a loving smile from the Son of Man.
What sights we’ll see, what treasures touch, on the other side,
If only we, here below, in our faith abide.

What do you think of Heaven’s scent, what aroma there,
Will it be made of baby’s breath wafting through the air?
Fresh baked bread, pecan pie, sausage on the grill,
The smell of every flower grown with the greatest skill?

What sounds will we enjoy, what echoed melody,
Songs of trickling streams, the sigh of a newborn baby?
A softly whisphered word from your mother's lips,
The laughter of the wind that holds us all transfixed?

Many things await us there, faith our entrance fee,
It's the promise given us, our Eternal guarantee.
We will never know it all until our time is done,

It’s the fate of all who wait upon the Holy Son.
