My heart is broken
from all those I have lost
my angst mounting
as my country writhes
in the throws of death

My smile is over-ridden
pain now dwells
my eyes fill
and over-flow
flooding my being

God numbers our days
he has been generous
allotting me so many
He is also kind
knowing when our pain
