          Character of Love

Concerned and caring for each other
Hardworking and helpful to a needy brother
Always looking out for neighbours in need
Reflecting life values in word and deed
Affected by loss and their grief profound
Crushed and heart-broken, but won't be kept down
Thankful and grateful to begin yet again
Endurance and courage despite their pain
Respect to them all has become my refrain.
 
Overwhelmed … but clinging to personal pride,
Friendship supports others in life's hard ride
 
Losing possessions – well they're just things
Only caring for others is what really brings
Value and meaning to all that life offers
Each moment of time puts gold in their coffers.

A tribute to all who despite suffering misfortune through natural disaster, still show evident care for others above their own needs.
They show resilience and look after each other, despite the odds against them. They are humble people who are fine examples of perseverance without complaining. Worthy of respect!
