A child's mind

Your eyes see beyond the tree
My eyes see the bumble bees

Your ears hear the noise afar
My ears hear the shooting star

Your hands touch a mess at your feet
My hands just made that masterpiece

There is a reason why I do what I do
I'm learning with my body it's true

For what I see, hear and touch
Helps me to grow so very much

Come with me and you will see
My great big world is full and free

Rhyming Poem contest entry


I have studied early childhood education for years as I have my primary degree. Children have a special talent in which they see the beauty and creative aspect of the world around them. As we age we start to lose that ability to use the senses we used to require for everyday living. Children learn and grown with their whole body.
