I See You

Today Hazel Eyes for me is Gray
Tomorrow they may appear Green as they are often seen.
It all depends on what I wear, whether it be Green or Gray
I always accept what one may say.
I see you through my "Hazel Eyes"
I am blessed daily as I look up at the sky
Thankful each day at seeing the beauty of a sunset and a sunrise
Through my green or grey eyes.
Whether or not Gray or Green, my eyes maybe.
My greatest blessing is that through them I can see.

Short and Colorful writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt
Write a poem which incorporates at least two colors. The idea is to use colors to infer meaning. Poem may be rhyming or not.

Whenever I wear grey or green I get comments about my eyes or note that folk stare at me.
Some have had the nerve to compliment me on the colour of my eyes.
My now deceased Mother lost her sight in her eighties, at a very difficult time to adjust. The colour of my eyes is very similar to what her's were. She always shared how grateful she was for the time when she had her eye sight.
I as a result am grateful and daily give thanks for seeing and recognising the beauty of all things bright and colourful.
