All About My Life
by pookietoo
I am the sixth of seven children. I have five brothers and one ssister. I was raised in a small farming town in southeastern Idaho called Oxford, Idaho. It had around 100 people in it.
When I was around 18 months old, I would take a few steps, stumble, and fall. My parents discovered my right hip was dislocated. I had surgery on it at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. I had to wear a cast on my legs for four months. My mom had to carry me around. Of course, I was the last one of my siblings to learn to walk.
I took swimming lessons four times at Downata Hot Springs in Downey, Idaho. I was around 7-11 years old, I was very scared of the water. Because of that, I don’t think I was able to pass off all of the requirements. I was really scared to dive off the diving board into the deep end of the pool.
I went to Clifton Elementary School in Clifton, Idaho and high school at West Side high school in Dayton, Idaho. My favorite teacher was my third grade teacher, Nancy Bates. She always praised me on my cursive writing. Because of that, it gave me extra incentive to do my best writing in cursive. I enjoyed the extra curricular activities we had in elementary school: dodgeball, kickball, and broom hockey.
I stared wearing glasses in the sixth grade. My favorite subjets in elementary school were English and Math. Although I had many friends throughout my school years, I was quite shy. I was not asked to go to the high school prom. I had a big crush on a boy named Rhett Buttars. I was involved in the FHA and the pep band in high school in which I played the bass clarinet. I played Junior Varsilty basketball.
I have always been a stalwart member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I got an associated degree in Office Education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. I had fun going to dances in college. I served a mission for my church in the California, San Bernardino Mission.
I met my husband at Deseret Industries in Ogden, Utah where we both worked. We got married in the temple on October 10, 1992. In my married life, I came out of my shell. I am a lot more outgoing. I have an unconditional love for others like Jesus had. I love to write poems, and many times God inspires me on what to write. I also love to crochet and make scrapbooks. I have been blessed with patience and the ability to be a good listener. I love basketball, baseball, and hockey. I love many songs, especially those that bring peace to my heart. My favorite singers are Michael W. Smith, three ladies named Heartbound, and Roy Orbison. I have a fear of heights. I am afraid to walk, and I use a walker to walk.
