Hello, dear reader, scanning page
with eyes of hope for something sage
or mayhap just a chuckle's chance
to sweep you up in humour's dance.

You stumbled on a trap, today
as you will find, to your dismay,
for I've a power, dark as Hell,
and now you're here, I'll ring your bell
and wring your soul, a horrid knell
that tolls to tell the day you fell!

Look deep into my eyes, young mark
and know the truth, as devils hark
of vengeance wrought upon mankind
by me - the guy you left behind.

For I can reach right from this screen
with grubby glass you never clean
to slap your face for passion's sake
and make demands like 'thou shalt bake'
and then I'll even take the cake
but won't remember when I wake

because I am a sleeping tool
whose power wakes to act the fool
beneath the moon and starlight's gaze
to navigate the world web's maze

and menace all the poets seeking sleep:
through glowing screens, I'll take your soul to keep.
