I think those who use it wrong
Should be put in the slammer.

And writers who skip back and forth
Should come to their right senses.

Reacting rather strangely
To subject-verb mistakes,
I grimace when I see them,
And then I get the shakes.

I might be too meticulous
For pronoun subjects use,
But when they're placed objectively,
That's serious abuse.

Words should be spelled correctly.
In fact, it's necessary.
I'm proposing folks who don't
Be hit with dictionaries.

It's true I have an awful fit
For stray apostrophes
When found where they do not belong
Or not where they should be.
