This work has reached the exceptional level
The only elements of love in a violent life.

by Kevin McNeany

I see their faces every day,
Reflections of myself.
Their love and pride still resonate,
They gave my soul its wealth.
Their love, care, and solicitude
Have made me who I am--
Though shame doth canker my torn heart
They raised a worthy man.
Their lives of desperate poverty
Ensured their grandson's worth.
And along with my most loyal wife,
Gave me my place on Earth.

A Milestone Post

I grew up from an early age in a household of dysfunction and violence. I stayed, when allowed, with my grandparents, who showered me with love and affection.
Until I met my wife, (also a writer), my life consisted of
abuse and unhappiness.
They are in my thoughts every day. I probably would not have survived without them. God bless you both, until we are reunited.
