The joy to be found in heaven

A Gloryland Eternity

by Verna Cole Mitchell

Someday I'll get to go to Gloryland
To sing and shout and praise eternally
And march along with saints in heaven's band.

What joy when I my blessed Savior see!
I'll lay my earthly burdens at His feet,
And He will wipe my tears away for me.

The loved ones who have died, I long to meet-
I know that they are waiting for me there.
Reunion time together will be sweet.

With shouts of "Hallelujah" everywhere,
I'll kneel before the holy sinless One
And thank Him for the cross He chose to bear.

I never will have need again for sun
Nor even lamp, for Jesus is the light,
And dark of night will be forever done.

The jeweled walls will be an awesome sight
As I stroll by on streets all made of gold
With Christians from the ages robed in white,

For just as the apostle had been told,
The church will be arrayed as Jesus' bride,
And I'll be part as prophecy unfolds.

Then endlessly with God will I abide-
No pain nor death in body made anew,
My sins all gone because my Lord had died.

Since every promise in His Word is true,
Someday I'll get to go to Gloryland.
I hope that you are going with me, too.
