Blood Shed from Soldiers

Whether in one's own country or a

foreign one, the oozing sweat and red

blood of heroically fallen soldiers

soaks the green grass under clear blue

skies and turns cold as it seeps

from their fragile veins into the hard

ground and scorches under the hot

sun, then turns yellow and scabs
