When my previous dog was dying of cancer we made the decision to euthanize her. The veterinarian came to my home and we sat on the green lawn under a blue sky with golden sunshine. I cradled her head as he gave her a double anaesthetic. Within seconds he told me "Her heart has stopped". The last thing she heard was "I love you".
The photo was taken the morning she died. She had a gentle sweet nature, and gave great joy to all who knew her.
